Warren Schlichting

Warren Schlichting spent much of the last three years as the Group President of Sling TV, the nation’s leading live linear OTT service. In this role Schlichting brought about total transformation by revamping its Product Management approach and modernizing its software development processes. During his time leading Sling Schlichting brought the company to profitability, greenlit the popular “Slingers” campaign and formed long term partnerships with Google, Facebook, Apple and Comcast among others.

Schlichting joined DISH in late 2011 to head its NYC-based Media Sales &amp; Data Analytics division. In this role he launched household addressable advertising using set-top box ad insertion, a first for the industry, and partnered with both data and analytics companies to plan, buy and measure addressable advertising campaigns. Schlichting was asked to lead television content acquisition for both DISH and Sling starting in 2014 and soon thereafter to lead DISH’s satellite pay TV marketing team in 2016. In the latter role Schlichting again made a number transformational changes including a complete makeover of DISH’s brand positioning, creation of DISH’s current motto “Tuned Into You” and hiring a successful CMO from outside the industry.

Prior to joining DISH Schlichting led Comcast’s advanced advertising and data efforts across multiple media and ad delivery platforms including broadband, interactive television and video-on-demand. Schlichting also led Comcast’s efforts to unite the cable industry around its robust set-top box data in an effort to build a significant competitor to Google and Facebook.

Schlichting’s experience includes a three-year stint as CEO of Hiwire, a Los Angeles-based Internet ad technology company and six years as CEO of Yucatan Foods, a venture he co-founded, advised and recently sold. He co-founded Camden Asset Management, a convertible arbitrage hedge fund, and has served on a number of company boards. Early in his career Schlichting also served in executive positions at the William E. Simon private equity group and at Morgan Stanley in their M&amp;A group.

Schlichting has received numerous industry awards and is a frequent keynote speaker and guest panelist. An annual selection to the Cable Top 100 Heavyhitters and two-term Board member of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), he also represented DISH on the board of Invidi, a data-driven ad-technology joint venture he championed between DISH and DirecTV. At present he is an advisor to Konvoy Ventures, an esports venture capital fund.

Schlichting currently serves on the Board of the Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Metro Denver and prior to that helped found the Philadelphia chapter of Summer Search, an organization dedicated to providing mentoring and summer experiences to kids for whom these would be otherwise unattainable. Schlichting enjoys time with his family and is an avid fisherman, slow biker and enthusiastic golfer.
