Mike Musson

Mike Musson is a strategic consultant advising CEOs and founders on product and corporate strategy within a proprietary “Build, Buy, Partner” Framework with a specialization on enabling strategic alliances and developing a proactive mergers and acquisition identification and execution expertise. Mike is currently an operational advisor to multiple FinTech, MarTech and EdTech startups. 

Previously Mike was the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Airship (formerly Urban Airship) responsible for developing the company’s strategic point of view and identifying partnership and acquisition opportunities to accelerate growth. At Airship Mike drove strategic partnership initiatives with Apple, Google Pay, SalesForce.com and Adobe, as well as leading Airship’s 2019 acquisition of Apptimize Inc.

Prior to Airship Mike was vice president of business development at the Citrix SaaS Division where he led teams responsible for strategic partnerships and M&A activity, completing eight acquisitions which led to an increase in addressable market opportunity of over $10B in both new product segments and geographic expansion in China and Japan. Before Citrix, Mike held executive-level positions at Oracle, Applied Materials, Software.com and Openwave. He also served as a buy-side equity research analyst and consultant to Friess Associates / Brandywine Funds and co-founded Tournabout Inc., which as CEO, he successfully negotiated its sale to Novint Technologies.  

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, with majors in Political Science and Economics, a master’s degree in Humanities with an emphasis on History and Political Science from Mount. St. Mary’s University. He also completed the treasury and cash management certificate program from the Hass School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
